Nella confezione dello spettacolo sono stati ripresi elementi da tutto il materiale animato precedente e da alcuni dei fumetti pubblicati al tempo, come per esempio l'idea dei saggi e delle architetture fatte di cristallo che proviene appunto dalla serie futuristica , oppure il personaggio di Hordak , che negli anni '80 era stato mostrato in forma animata principalmente nella serie di She-Ra.
