Babysitter Wanted (2008) TrailerVery disappointed!!!! Now THAT was original! This film has all the ingredients for a good horror movie. Plenty of action, suspense, good unexpected twists, lots of surprises but mostly, an impeccable execution.
The idea behind the film is the kind of idea me and my friends would come up with as kids for a good horror movie Also the perfect type of story you could tell to your little brothers and sisters when the parents were out Good old times But Angie's first night of work might just be her last when she must fight for her life to protect herself and the child.
But is everything as it seems? Angie is about to have a few unexpected surprises as her first night goes The acting is perfect, nothing cheesy here.
All the performances are believable, both Angie and the Stanton Family deserves a pat on the back for their acting. The cinematography is excellent, even in the darker scenes at night and inside the house.
The film is moving, both emotionally and structurally moving I really had a good time watching this and would definitely recommend it to any horror fan I suspect this will also become a cult classic in a few years One person found this helpful.
Some of the acting was mediocre, but most was passable to good. The writing is over the top at times, but most of us do expect a bit of camp in a horror flick, don't we?
Most of the classic horror tropes are present, but are then combined in a way that will probably surprise you.

It's actually okay. Good dialogue. Unexpected 'things' occurring during the film. Becomes a little odd when it materialises that the child whom the babysitter is babysitting is actually the son of the devil.

Jan 16, Both movies have a similar premise young woman at a small college taking a rural babysitting job at a spooky locale because she's desperate for money , both try to scare you by slowly building tension at least, initially in a large, quiet house, and both have similar sources of evil as the heart of the threat to our unsuspecting heroines.
The main difference between the two movies, though besides a gruesome twist or two , is that House of the Devil is just better.
It's more frightening, more interesting, and more memorable. That's not to say that Babysitter Wanted is bad or not worth watching.
It's a sinister movie that's shot well, and I didn't find much reason to complain about the actors though there is a faintly ridiculous monologue almost an hour into the proceedings that would have been better left out.
The story is simple and violence and gore are certainly present though it happens off-screen as often as on. The last 45 minutes or so are quite different from what comes before, so be prepared for a shift in tone.
The final act is where the two movies really separate themselves, and that's really where I think House of the Devil completely outshines this.
Maybe I would have appreciated Babysitter Wanted more if I hadn't seen a superior,similar movie that I couldn't help comparing it to.
