A lot of it, though not all of it is filmed from the point of view of the older of the two children which may be the only point that adds any suspense to it read: hide and seek under the house.

Steer clear! Not remotely scary. Teenaged siblings Becca and Tyler are visiting their grandparents for the first time in a remote, isolated, small town in Pennsylvania for a week.
Their mom, who left when she was a teen herself, has been estranged from her parents but recently decided to start the process of reconciliation by having her kids stay with them.
Becca, an aspiring director, and her younger brother, Tyler, a wannabe rapper, are excited to learn more about their mom and her time as child. They document their visit as a way to memorialize their experience and to give some sort of answer and peace to their mom.
At first, it's typical grandparents and grandkids stuff. Because they are virtually strangers, they don't learn much about each other throughout this whole week.
But as time passes, the kids start noticing strange behavior that weirds them out. Their grandparents explain away these oddities but Tyler and Becca soon learn that their grandparents aren't what they seem.
The Visit The grandparents are kind of creepy and definitely weird, yes, but weird does not equal scary or suspenseful and they were weird for the sake to be just weird.
The kids themselves were rendered in a way that was trying too hard to make them 'unique' and annoying AF even though they're supposed to add a sense of vulnerability, drama, and suspense that is totally lacking in general.
There is some attempt for character development but it's so poorly done and underdeveloped that it's rendered moot and you just don't care.
The creepy factor is there to a small degree but not very interesting by the end. I continually lost interest in this movie and wondered where it was going.
It's about min too long and unnecessarily drags things out. The shaky, camera-documentary style is Don't know why. This is not an original story, and the fact that everyone involved in this story thought it was is unfortunate.
And the fact that even a handful of viewers saw this movie as great is actually the scary thing. The writing is terrible, the directing is awful, this whole movie is a big waste of time.
Wasn't worth it, not even a little. The positive reviews baffle me and made me waste money. Not happy. Would not recommend even if you're desperate to watch a horror movie.

Olivia DeJonge is very good as Becca, the older sister who decides to make a 'documentary' about she and her little brother visiting their estranged grandparents for the first time.
Self-consciously intelligent, she's a smart but likeable lead. Her co-star Ed Oxenbould as younger brother Tyler is a hoot - a wannabe rapper nowhere near as bad as you expect is both bursting with charisma and ridiculously funny - don't be surprised if this kid is the next big child star in Hollywood.
It's through their documentary's perspective that we see them meet their sweet grandparents. All seems to go well until they run across a few odd habits and blips of strange behaviour - but these are just the quirks of growing old, we're told, and reassurance steps in once again, additionally disarming us with doses of comedy.
To say anything else about the plot would ruin what may be the best slow-burn thriller of increasing tension since Shyamalan's collaboration with John Erick Dowdle on 'Devil' - a ratcheting screw of nerves and fear that tightens even as you fool yourself that you're fine with another burst of laughter at the smarter and funnier-than-usual dialogue.
In fact, this may be 'Devil's superior. It does fall into a similar camp in terms of structure, and I remember thinking it was a movie I wasn't sure I'd re-watch now all the surprises were blown, but I did catch myself frozen with appalled shock twice during the last 20 minutes, and gripping the arm of my seat.
A lot of this is down to how likeable and rounded the performances are - the kids, the grandparents and the Mum all play textured, quirky and emotional characters with depth, and therefore make you actually care what happens.
There's very little bad language in fact there's a running gag about swearing that works brilliantly several times and little gore - so not a movie for gorehounds I'm afraid.
Nor would it be much good at a party with everyone distracted, as it demands your attention for the drip-feed of unease and atmosphere to take effect.
However, if you're prepared to shut the curtains, turn off the lights and focus on having a scary and funny time, you'll find The Visit marks a rare return to form for M Night Shyamalan.
A mother with two teenaged children has been estranged from her parents for 15 years. But her parents track her down and she agrees to allow her children to visit them for a week.
But once the children arrive they find that their grandparents suffer increasingly strange behaviour. I have to admit that I am a fan of M Night Shyamalan's work and like much of what he does, even though plenty of it of it is heavily criticised by critics.
So maybe I am biased but I thought this was a particularly good film. The characters are given a thorough introduction so you get to see how both the mother and children have been damaged following the father leaving, and when they arrive at their grandparent's home the behaviour of the elderly couple is gradually unfolded, becoming more and more bizarre as things progress.
The climax of the film is something that many people will see coming but it is handled particularly well and may shock a few.
It may not be completely original but I haven't seen the ideas handled this way before and I was well pleased with the result.
